Meet Your Instructor
Your instructor will be Steve Robison, a retired Community College Student Services Administrator and Instructor, with an unusual lifelong hobby of antique Letterpress Printing. Steve started printing in 1958 at the age of 7, when he received a toy printing press from Santa.
Since then, on and off for the last 61 years, he has collected and restored and printed on numerous antique letterpress printing presses, including hand-set type from the 1860s from the Territorial Enterprise newspaper in Virginia City.
Right here in Virginia City, Steve is working closely with the restoration of the Territorial Enterprise newspaper & Mark Twain Museum, and also the renewal of the Historic Fourth Ward School Museum’s Mark Twain Room Print Shop.
He is looking forward to sharing his extensive knowledge with you at one of the many classes offered here at the Fourth Ward School Museum!
